Page
Its "Shareholder Forum" website announces CalPERS' proxy
voting on approximately 100 companies in its portfolio some two
weeks before their annual shareholder meetings. It also includes
information on CalPERS' governance activities, litigation actions,
governance principles, related sites, and a searchable database of
more than 14,000 reports and articles on governance.
Director
Screening Tool
Provides information on directors from the entire S&P Supercomposite Index of
1500 companies. The database is searchable by company, director,
director age, and a variety of other characteristics. Provided
by The
Corporate Library.
EconWPA
A collection of working papers in economics (divided into 22 subject
areas) provided by the Economics Department of Washington
University.
EDGAR
The Securities and Exchange Commission's searchable data base of corporate filings. Other
sites providing access to the files in the EDGAR database (with easier to use interfaces)
include Partes FreeEDGAR, EDGAR Online, and PricewaterhouseCoopers' EdgarScan.
Global Securities
Information
Global Securities Information, Inc., provides a variety of
services related to disseminating information released by the
SEC and other governmental bodies.
National Bureau of Economic Research
NBER's website contains pdf versions of its working papers. The
working papers are divided by program (including Law & Economics
and Industrial Organization) and are also searchable by the full
text or reference list.
Securities
Class Action Clearinghouse
This site is hosted by the Stanford Law School's Robert Crown
Law Library and contains information on securities fraud class action cases filed
after the passage of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. The full text
of complaints, briefs, and court orders, from hundreds of cases are online.
The Securities Lawyer's Deskbook
The Securities Lawyer's Deskbook contains the full text of the Securities Act of 1933, the
Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and the Investment Company Act of 1940, as well as the
regulations and forms under those acts. This site is provided by the Corporate Law Center
at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
SEDAR
SEDAR is the Canadian version of EDGAR, providing a searchable database of the disclosure
documents filed by Canadian public companies and mutual funds.
Social
Science Research Network
The SSRN provides downloadable copies of working papers in areas such as Legal
Scholarship, Financial Economics, and Accounting. This site also lists announcements for
conferences, meetings, and calls for papers.
