Jonathan Spector
Jon Spector was appointed Vice Dean and Director of Wharton Executive Education in August, 2004. Prior to that time, Jon was Chairman and CEO of Easy411, Inc., which provides Directory Assistance to mobile phone and landline users. He launched the company in late 2003, and Easy411 went into beta testing trials in February, 2004. It became available to the general public on April 2, 2004, and it has been reviewed on CNN, in the Boston Globe and PC World, and numerous other publications. Jon began his career at McKinsey & Company, and for twenty years he consulted to the senior management of large corporations on issues of strategy, organization and operations. His major clients were leading companies in the information technology and communications industries; Jon also served large clients in the energy, transportation and insurance sectors. In 1989 he moved to Hong Kong to help build McKinsey’s practice in China and Southeast Asia, moving to Taiwan in 1991 to found and manage the firm’s office there. He returned to the United States in 1995 and helped lead McKinsey’s North American electronics practice until his departure from the firm in 2000. Jon was elected a Principal in 1986 and a Director (Senior Partner) in 1992. Over the past four years Jon has served as CEO of two venture-backed corporations, Darwin Networks, a wireless ISP, and Seurat Company, a consulting firm engaged in precision marketing services, and he raised over $100 million to support the growth of these companies. Jon was graduated from Wesleyan University, cum laude, with a joint degree in Math/ Economics, and was graduated from the Harvard Business School with honors in 1980. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the March of Dimes in Massachusetts as well as a member of their National Board of Advisors, and he is a Director of several startup companies in the Boston area. From 1996 to 2002 he served as a Trustee of Wesleyan University. He lives outside of Boston with his wife and four children. |
