Leadership Ventures are co-curricular experiential learning opportunities designed to bring participants into remote and unfamiliar environments where they can learn through experience by confronting challenges, solving problems, and leading teams. The Leadership Venture model provides a foundation for individual, small group, and community-level learning by structuring periods of personal reflection and guided discussion around specific activities. Key topics such as leadership and followership, group decision-making processes, stages of group development, and managing ambiguity are explored using daily events as the foundation for learning. In every case, students are expected to act decisively and take accountability for the outcomes of their decisions.
