Wharton 1010 TAs – Fall 2026

On campus, Aarav is involved with Wharton Council, PennQuest Orientation Leader, and Kappa Sigma.

Aarav is interested in Finance and AI. Their experience includes Freshman Summer: Built a GTM platform for B2B SaaS Startup, Soph Summer: Private Equity at FTV Capital, and Junior Summer: Investment Banking at Barclays.

Aarav’s favorite part of WH1010 was helping ease first year fears during 1on1s.

Aarav’s advice for incoming students: Work hard but value people and memories more.

Fun fact: I’ve lived in 6 states including Oklahoma and Alaska!

Alan is involved with Wharton Leadership Ventures, Penn Electric Racing, and Penn BiCycle Lab.

Alan’s career interests and experience include Freshman Year Summer: Biogeochemistry research with the Penn BiCycle Lab, Sophomore Year Summer: Corporate Strategy intern at Huntington Ingalls Industries, and Junior Year Summer: Incoming Intern at Bain.

Alan’s favorite part of WH1010 was feeling supported and mentored by upperclassmen TAs (shoutout Tara).

Alan’s advice for incoming students: Don’t waste time doing things that don’t make you fulfilled.

Fun fact: Last winter break, I led a six-day backpacking expedition to Cotopaxi in Ecuador!

Alina is involved with Wharton Women and Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity. Outside of student organizations, she serves as a Residential Advisor, participates in Club Gymnastics, and works with the Wharton Global Youth Program. She has interned as a Private Credit Investment Analyst at Aquarian Holdings and has also served as a Teaching Assistant for the Wharton Global Youth Program’s Essentials of Finance course.

Her favorite part of WH1010 was the community she built with her TA, her team, and memorable class experiences like the snowstorm simulation.

Her advice for incoming students: Always lead with kindness and make the most of the opportunity to live and learn in a vibrant city.

Fun fact: Alina loves hiking and traveling to national parks and has visited four so far.

Q is involved with Wharton Undergraduate Distressed Investing Group (WUDIG) – VP of Education, Penn International Impact Consulting (PIIC) – Former VP Professional Development and Senior Consultant, Global Research and Consulting (GRC) – Former VP Professional Development and Project Lead, Marketing Undergraduate Student Establishment (MUSE) – Former member of Generalist Consulting, Jazz Ensemble – Piano and Key Bass player, Piano Fourhands – Former pianist, Miscellaneous small music groups and performances – piano and voice, and OAX Society – Former Merch Chair.

Q is interested in restructuring and distressed investing. Their experience includes Freshman Year Internship: Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) through GRIP, Sophomore Year Internship: Writer for Pari Passu Newsletter, and Junior Year Internship: Centerview Partners Restructuring Group.

Q’s favorite part of WH1010 was developing a close relationship with my TA through one-on-ones and learning about how to take advantage of the different resources at Wharton to make the most of my time here.

Q’s advice for incoming students: Have an open mind to anything and everything. Penn is a very different environment than most academic spaces, and it’ll serve you well to explore as much as you can academically, preprofessionally, and socially. Don’t get swept up in the noise (there is a lot), and prioritize developing and keeping connections to those who matter to you.

Fun fact: I like to write extensive food reviews on beli (@jiajiaqu)!

Ananyaa is involved with Wharton Social Impact consulting club, Wharton Asia Exchange: Real Estate, Penn Masti, and Girls into VC @ Penn.

Ananyaa’s favorite part of WH1010 was i loved my team and we got along extremely well! My favourite part was the recitations where we just had time to talk to each other, catch up on our weeks and work on the project together! I love the deeply interpersonal aspect of WH1010.

Ananyaa’s advice for incoming students: Expectation doesn’t always match reality and that is completely okay! Keep an open mind and allow things to flow as they do rather than having a fixed perception of how things should be!

Fun fact: I’m a classically trained dancer and I have been learning Kathak since I was 5!

Andrew is involved with Wharton Council, MUSE Generalist Consulting, and WITG.

Andrew is interested in Restructuring, Distressed Investing. Their experience includes Summer 2026: DSW Investments (Investment Research) and Summer 2025: Bonnie Brae Expeditions (Search Fund).

Andrew’s favorite part of WH1010 was getting to meet new people in my cohort.

Andrew’s advice for incoming students: Figure out what you truly value and let that guide how you spend your time. Explore widely, say yes to opportunities that align with your goals, and remember that there is always another door waiting to open if you are willing to look for it.

Fun fact: Each summer, I teach myself a new sport!

Ari is involved with Wharton Women, Wharton Undergraduate Venture Group, Wharton Undergraduate Media and Entertainment, Rock climbing, and Running.

Ari is interested in Media and Entertainment Finance. Their experience includes Currently interning at: LMM tech private equity firm.

Ari’s favorite part of WH1010 was i loved getting to hear from each of the departments in Wharton and learning about potential concentrations!

Ari’s advice for incoming students: Try as many new things as you can your first year; don’t box yourself into one path too early.

Fun fact: When I came to Penn my family moved from Dallas to Princeton, NJ!

Arnav is interested in business and corporate strategy, as well as data analytics, and has gained experience through internships at Bain & Company and Seprod Limited.

His favorite part of WH1010 was growing closer with his team each week and building friendships that lasted well beyond the course.

His advice for incoming students: Talk to everyone you can—including your professor and other TAs—and don’t hesitate to ask your TA anything about Wharton or Penn. That’s what they’re there for!

Fun fact: Arnav’s mom’s family is from Indonesia, and he speaks Bahasa.

Chloe is involved with Wharton Women, Wharton Retail Club, Transfer Student Organization, and Grace Covenant Church.

Chloe’s career interests and experience include Food and Beverage, PwC, and Tillamook.

Chloe’s favorite part of WH1010 was i loved my innovation project team and TA! One of my teammates is still my best friend to this day and my TA is one of my biggest role models.

Chloe’s advice for incoming students: Find joy in all the little things and always remember to be grateful! This mindset will make the most stressful weeks go by just a little better and make the best weeks just a little happier.

Fun fact: I have a 2600-day streak on Duolingo to learn Italian!

Chloe is involved with Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club, Wharton Women, Wharton Asia Exchange, Penn Dance Company, Penn Symphony Orchestra, and Netter Center Volunteer.

Chloe is interested in Consulting. Their experience includes Magnus Investment Partners (Intern) and City of Philadelphia (Intern).

Chloe’s favorite part of WH1010 was working with my team on the Innovation Challenge and hearing everyone’s creative ideas.

Chloe’s advice for incoming students: My advice to incoming students is to get outside of your comfort zone and don’t be afraid to try something new.

Chris is involved with Formerly WUVG, WUEC, BWC, Black Gen Capital and Penn Club Hockey team, Biggabed @ Penn.

Chris’s career interests and experience include Interests: Technology/Entrepreneurship and Past work: Summer Researcher WAIAI/WSABI, Moneyball academy TA.

Chris’s favorite part of WH1010 was getting to see the first year students grow and thrive in the Wharton environment!

Chris’s advice for incoming students: Be open to trying new things and be ready for to be challenged in new and unfamiliar ways. But most importantly, enjoy every moment as the 4 years can go by fast.

Fun fact: I first learned how to skate when I was 3 years old!

Eddie is involved with Wharton Korea Undergraduate Business Society, Wharton Asia Exchange, Men’s Varsity Sprint Football, and Scholars of Finance.

Eddie’s career interests and experience include Investment Banking, Technology Investing, Thien Viet Securities, Republic of Korea Army, and Volup.

Eddie’s favorite part of WH1010 was 1 on 1s with my TA! They were not only great checkpoints to really reflect on my time at Wharton but also to get to know my TA better as a person.

Eddie’s advice for incoming students: Don’t be afraid to reach out to upperclassmen for coffee chats or advice in general. They’ve all been in your shoes and are happy to help!

Fun fact: I was born in Busan, South Korea, but grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam, for 18 years.

Elana is involved with TA, Penn Blockchain, Club Tennis, and Dementia Art Therapy Alliance.

Elana’s career interests and experience include Interests: Finance (still exploring), Worked: GRIP Sydney – Sales Intern (Beauticate), and Power Market Finance Analyst Intern (Kiewit).

Elana’s favorite part of WH1010 was my favorite part was definitely meeting the rest of my class and my team because the class exercises made it easier to connect quickly.

Elana’s advice for incoming students: Don’t let setbacks dictate your Penn experience – I got many opportunities on the second or third try!

Fun fact: I’m currently starting the series Attack on Titan.

Eric is involved with Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club, Joseph Wharton Scholars Program, and Civic Youth Action Partnership.

Eric’s career interests and experience include Education, Corporate Strategy, and Consulting.

Eric’s favorite part of WH1010 was meeting my students and getting to know them throughout the semester, and watching them grow as individuals!

Eric’s advice for incoming students: Don’t be afraid to try new things, talk to strangers, and explore!

Fun fact: I am a black belt in Taekwondo.

Eva is involved with Marketing Undergraduate Student Establishment (MUSE), Wealth Management Club (WMC), Assembly of International Students (AIS), Wharton Retail Club (WRC), Art enthusiast (The Barnes, Philadelphia Museum of Art), Traveling, Reading & book clubs, and Pilates.

Eva is interested in management consulting, sustainability, energy, retail. Their experience includes B1 (ex EY Russia) – financial due diligence, freshman summer, Yakov & Partners (ex McKinsey Russia) – management consulting, and sophomore summer.

Eva’s favorite part of WH1010 was the people. WH1010 puts you in the room with nearly all your Wharton peers, exceptional faculty and remarkable guest speakers, allowing you to form lasting connections and hear so many unique voices.

Eva’s advice for incoming students: Have your goals, but keep your eyes and mind open: Wharton is full of brilliant people and unexpected opportunities, and some of your most memorable experiences here can come from paths you never thought to look for.

Fun fact: Every time I travel somewhere new, I buy a local art book to remember it by, so my shelf has become a small international gallery.

Fen is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and is a Wharton student in the Class of 2027 concentrating in Marketing and Real Estate, with a minor in Urban Real Estate Development.

Fen is excited to support first-year students through WH1010 and help them navigate their transition to Wharton and Penn.

Isa is involved in Wharton Women and Wharton Latino. Outside of Wharton clubs, she participates in the Newman Center, fitness classes, and CHAARG. She is interested in finance and investing, particularly investment banking, as well as international business with a focus on LATAM and France.

Her favorite part of WH1010 was becoming close with her team and having a built-in group of friends to navigate the semester with.

Her advice for incoming students: Do not be afraid to ask for help or explore interests that do not traditionally align with finance.

Fun fact: Isa is very distantly related to Sofia Vergara, though she jokes that she did not inherit any of her talents.

Jaya is involved with Wharton Council, Wharton Leadership Ventures, 34th Street, CityStep, 180 Consulting, and Penn Masti. She is interested in strategy, management, and startups and has worked as a Business Intern at The Thaiger, a Venture Analyst at STORC, and a Research Analyst at Rock International.

Her favorite part of WH1010 was learning about the many opportunities and departments that make Wharton unique.

Her advice for incoming students: Keep your sense of perspective. Choose the responsibilities that matter most to you, make time for experiences that aren’t always “productive,” and don’t forget to have fun along the way.

Fun fact: Jaya will be leading a Wharton Leadership Ventures expedition to the Atacama Desert next spring!

John is involved with WUVG and Penn Men’s Varsity Swimming.

John’s career interests and experience include I am interested in working in Venture Capital, Worked on a sheep farm last summer, Working at Left Lane this summer, and Working at Battery Ventures next summer.

John’s favorite part of WH1010 was being a positive influence on incoming freshmen.

John’s advice for incoming students: Don’t say no, try everything you can.

Fun fact: I am a competitive lifeguard, ranked 49th nationally!

Jordan is involved with Black Wharton Undergraduate Association, Black Wharton Consulting, Wharton Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Club, Venture Lab, STEP, and Co-founder, CEO : The CultivatED Foundation.

Jordan’s career interests and experience include Entrepreneurship, Social Enterprise, Startups, and Consulting., -AI Logistics Startup based in Atlanta, and -Social Policy & Equity with UChicago Medicine (worked as BizOps).

Jordan’s favorite part of WH1010 was my TA Lisa Nnaji. Her mentorship, charisma, and candid-nature was greatly appreciated as a first semester freshman adjusting to the Penn landscape.

Jordan’s advice for incoming students: Be curious and ask lots of questions. Penn students are not as scary as you may think.

Fun fact: I love running, and I’m currently training for a half marathon this summer.

Keya is involved with Marketing Undergraduate Student Establishment (MUSE), Penn Women in Consulting (WINC), Penn Records, Volunteer Tutor, UPchieve, and Research Assistant, Professor Michael Roberts (Finance 1000).

Keya’s career interests and experience include I am interested in finance and economics, especially in areas related to energy and infrastructure!, Private Equity Summer Analyst, InfraBlocks Capital (Summer 2026), and Summer Intern, JobSiteCare (Summer 2025).

Keya’s favorite part of WH1010 was definitely the people! I became really close with so many of my cohort members, and they’re still some of my best friends at Penn today. I also had an amazing TA who was so supportive throughout my first year and always willing to help whenever I needed advice. He was actually the one who encouraged me to apply to be a TA, and it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve made at Penn!

Keya’s advice for incoming students: It’s ok if you don’t have everything figured out right away! Give yourself time to settle in and find your people, make sure to take advantage of the mentorship around you (older Penn students are always willing to help), and always say yes to new experiences. So many of the best parts of my Penn experience came from opportunities, relationships, and conversations I wasn’t expecting!

Fun fact: I love passionfruit boba and trying new restaurants in Philly!

Lahari is involved with Wharton Women, Moso Capital, Wharton Retail Club, The Walk, Wharton Undergraduate Finance Club, and Penn Business Services Department.

Lahari’s career interests and experience include My interests span various finance and retail fields. Previously I have worked across investment banking, venture capital, consumer startups, and investment management focusing on alternative investments.

Lahari’s favorite part of WH1010 was my team! Over the course of the semester we became very close and eventually won the innovation challenge in our class.

Lahari’s advice for incoming students: Use WH1010 to get to know other people on your team, in your class, etc that you may have otherwise not met!

Fun fact: I am a black-belt in karate.

Luna is involved with Joseph Wharton Scholar (Former Executive Board), Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club (Former President), Wharton Women (Mentorship Chair), Wharton Turner ESG Fellows & ESG Integration Projects, MUSE Generalist Consulting, Club Volleyball, Catapult @ Penn Graduate School of Education (EdTech Entrepreneurship), Asian Pacific American Leadership Initiative (APALI), Penn Abroad (Ambassador), Penn Career Services (Peer Advisor), and Venture Lab.

Luna is interested in consulting, EdTech, startups/venture/investing, entrepreneurship. Their experience includes 24′ Summer: Strategy & Ops @ EdTech Startup, 25′ Summer: Corp Strategy and M&A @ HII, Business Dev. @ Special Olympics, and 26′ Summer: Consulting @ Bain.

Luna’s favorite part of WH1010 was meeting students from everywhere & getting to know each other throughout the semester.

Luna’s advice for incoming students: Be open minded and don’t be afraid of going to events/places solo. You never know who you will meet & what you will find out there!

Fun fact: Visited 26 cities while abroad in Spain!!

Mia is involved with PIIC, Wharton Council, GRC, SNF Paideia Fellow, Penn Climate Ventures, and Greek Life/Sorority.

Mia’s career interests and experience include I am interested in finance, sustainability, and energy. and This summer, I am working in Singapore at an FP&A company through GRIP.
Mia’s favorite part of WH1010 was definitely the Innovation Challenge! I really loved the creativity/problem solving aspect of it (and getting closer to my team).

Mia’s advice for incoming students: The more convinced you are that you know exactly what you want, the less likely you are to discover the possibilities that are out there – keep an open mind!!

Fun fact: I was on my high school sailing team!!

Naha is involved with PennSEM, Wharton Undergrad Entrepreneurship Club, Joseph Wharton Scholars, and Wharton STEP.

Naha is interested in Investment Banking (Finance), Consulting, and Marketing.

Naha’s favorite part of WH1010 was being able to connect with my tablemates and build real relationships over the course of an entire semester. Getting to collaborate with the same group of people, learn more about them, and grow together made the experience really memorable.

Naha’s advice for incoming students: Be yourself and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone, you’ll be surprised how much you grow.

Fun fact: In my junior year of high school, I tried learning graphic design for the first time and ended up winning a national competition.

Nicolas is involved with Student Allocations Commission (SAC), Successful Transition & Empowerment Program (STEP), Asian Pacific Student Coalition (APSC), Penn Math Contest (PMC), Wharton Alliance, The Signal Society, Club Badminton, and Admissions Center Assistant.

Nicolas’s career interests and experience include AI governance, data privacy, management consulting, social impact entrepreneurship, EdTech, Summer 2026: Accenture, Fortune 100 healthcare/pharmaceuticals client, and Summer 2025: Wharton Global Youth, high school entrepreneurship program TA.

Nicolas’s favorite part of WH1010 was the people. Freshman fall, I could barely grasp what I didn’t know about Penn, and I had no idea where to start. My TA was a senior who somehow always had an answer to whatever random question I had, and he ended up being someone

I relied on a lot throughout my first semester. He made Penn feel much smaller and more manageable.

I also got really close with my WH1010 team. We worked well together, ended up taking a trip to New York, and even now, I still run into them around campus all the time.

In many ways, those relationships are what brought me back to WH1010 as a TA. The TA community has introduced me to some of my closest friends and mentors at Penn, and it’s become one of the communities I’m most grateful to be a part of.

Nicolas’s advice for incoming students: Coming into Penn, I thought every decision mattered much more than it actually did. Penn’s environment makes you feel that you need a perfect answer to everything: what clubs you’re joining, what jobs you’re seeking, and where you see yourself in four years. Everyone seems to have a grand plan for their life. But that is all simply not true.

Throughout your time here, you will learn that these things aren’t nearly as consequential as they seem at the time. The interview that doesn’t go your way, the project that isn’t your finest work, the path you thought you wanted but end up changing: all of this is important in the moment, yes, but I encourage you to take a step back and look at the big picture.
What matters most is finding people who make you better. My best experiences at Penn have come from working with people who challenged me, called me out when I needed it, supported me through my worst moments, and made me want to be the best version of myself: the friends who text you at midnight about a problem set, the project co-lead who calls you out when you’re cutting corners, the mentor who expects more from you than you expect from yourself. Looking back, these people are what define my Penn experience, and I remember them far more than any individual accomplishment or failure.

All this to say, don’t spend your energy on trying to optimize every decision. Focus on finding communities and friendships that push you to grow, both personally and professionally. The rest will work itself out!

Fun fact: I am very active on Beli ~ always looking for new restaurants to try, whether in Philadelphia or around the world. Always happy to chat over a meal!

Pearl is involved with Wharton Council, Wharton STEP, Wharton Women, Black Wharton Undergraduate Association, and Every Nation Campus Philly – Freedom Church.

Pearl’s career interests and experience include Interests: Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, and Data Science and Internships: Freshman Summer – Product and AI Tools Intern @ ARMAI Technologies Inc.

Pearl’s favorite part of WH1010 was getting to learn more about each concentration offered at Wharton with the Tuesday lectures.

Pearl’s advice for incoming students: Don’t ever feel pressure to conform to what others are doing. Be yourself and everything will work out!

Fun fact: I was born in West Virginia!

Sara is involved in Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club, Wharton Cohorts/STEP, Wharton Women, and the Muslim Students’ Association. She is interested in private equity, global development financing, and sovereign wealth funds. Sara has spent her junior summer as a Private Equity Analyst at Ardian, her sophomore summer as an Investment Analyst at Penn Office of Investments, and her freshman summer as a Consulting Intern in Amman, Jordan.

Her favorite part of WH1010 was the breadth of diverse perspectives students are exposed to. She appreciated how everyone brings a unique take to business challenges, encouraging students to think outside the box both in and out of the classroom.

Her advice for incoming students: Ask that question. Share the idea. Make the first move. Everyone here wants to get to know the wonderful person you are, so do not hold back.

Fun fact: Sara turned her love of cafe hopping into becoming an at-home barista and is now obsessed with making her own lattes, matcha, and more.

Thivya is involved with Wharton Council, Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club, Penn International Impact Consulting, Joseph Wharton Scholars, and CapitalHER (women’s entrepreneurship incubator).

Thivya’s career interests and experience include Startup Founder – Founded Enyday (DMZ Basecamps Incubator Summer ‘26) and Research in youth unemployment trends across Canada.

Thivya’s favorite part of WH1010 was i enjoyed the problem-solving and pitching elements of the innovation challenge alongside my team – we ended up winning within our recitation and section! I’m also incredibly grateful for the mentorship and friendship I gained from my TA, and she is absolutely the reason I want to give back to the WH1010 community!

Thivya’s advice for incoming students: If something in your first year ever feels like the end of the world, it helped me to remember that Penn gives you four years to grow into yourself. You can make mistakes, fail more than you expect, change your mind a lot, and still end up exactly where you are meant to be. If anything, it is far harder to look back and wonder what could have happened if you had truly given something your all.

Fun fact: I was born in Sri Lanka and am super passionate about my culture and cuisine.

Tiago is involved with Latino investment club, global equity management club and Penn track and field.

Tiago’s career interests and experience include For now, I’m interested in private equity, no prior work experience.
Tiago’s favorite part of WH1010 was the relationships I built with fellow classmates.

Tiago’s advice for incoming students: Don’t stress too much over things you feel you have to do. You’ll find yourself somewhere where you belong.

Fun fact: I was Gatorade Florida player of the year. I’m a first team all American.
