Undergraduate Consortium:
Business Education in Turbulent Times
Thursday, October 9- Friday, October 10, 2025
The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
Registration Fee: $200
The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Advisory Board of Business Engaging Liberal Learning (BELL) welcome you to the convening of the Undergraduate Consortium!
This invitation-only convening builds on the legacy of the Aspen Undergraduate Consortium, committed to enhancing the integration of “liberal learning” – the free pursuit of ideas, across academic disciplines, fields, traditions, and perspectives – into business education. Our aim remains the same: to better equip our students as managers, leaders, and global citizens.
For more than a decade, the Aspen Institute advanced the integration of liberal learning into undergraduate business education through nine convenings held across the U.S. and abroad. During the pandemic, Aspen stepped into a supporting role, and the Advisory Board assumed leadership, hosting a virtual gathering, From the Margins to the Center. In June 2024, thanks to generous support from Utah State University, the Board held its first post-pandemic, in-person convening: Transforming Business Education, Together. Now, the McNulty Leadership Program and the Advisory Board—newly named BELL —invite you to an intimate, in-person gathering at The Wharton School on October 9–10, 2025: Business Education in Turbulent Times: Engaging Liberal Learning.
The title of this convening pays tribute to a forthcoming volume co-edited by Anne M. Greenhalgh and Harris Sondak, Business Education in a Turbulent Era (Edward Elgar Publishing, 2027). We want to gather a group of contributors to the volume and collaborators for deep reflection and focused experimentation on the future of undergraduate business education.
