As a social psychologist at NYU, Jonathan Haidt's research examines the intuitive foundations of morality, ethics, and leadership.

In the Coddling of the American Mind, Haidt shows how problems on campus have their origins in three terrible ideas that have become increasingly woven into American childhood and education: What doesn’t kill you makes you weaker; always trust your feelings, and life is a battle between good people and evil people.

Haidt is also the author of The Happiness Hypothesis: Finding Modern Truth in Ancient Wisdom, and The New York Times bestseller, The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion He has written more than 100 academic articles. In 2019 he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and was chosen by Prospect magazine as one of the world's "Top 50 Thinkers."
