Management 100

Management 100: Leadership & Communication in Groups

The business world requires people to work successfully in teams that depend on persuasive rather than positional leadership. The required foundation course for all undergraduates who entered Wharton prior to Fall 2017, Management 100 is a highly experiential course in which teams of ten students plan and execute a field project for a client in the greater Philadelphia area. The course focuses on teamwork, group dynamics and leadership development.

MGMT 100 is designed to increase students’ understanding of leadership and communication in teams and help build skills that are necessary for professional success.

“The MGMT 100 experience is unlike anything I’ve ever heard from friends who go to other schools. It’s amazing to walk into a classroom as a freshman and learn about management from famous authors, then apply that knowledge directly to a non-profit.”
